Coming to Peru has been a dream. Not all perfect (altitude sickness is so real) but everything has been so wonderful. My host family turned out to be a host community. I'm staying at a student home where I am meeting lovely people from Brazil, US, and my new roomates that are coming this weekend will be from Germany! I am beyond blessed to have this opportunity to meet these amazing individuals with such wonderful goals. My host is a chef and he is making us the most delicious pervian meals. My assignment turned out to be a little different then I thought but is still so fulfilling. I am helping at a monastery where I am taking care of individuals that have either outlived their family or don't have any. I help them with their physical therapy and daily needs. I am also supervising the medic on call at the monastery. So far it has been all wonderful and I have tried to explore somewhere new everyday. I can't wait to update you guys more. What an amazing trip! I’m sure you are blessing those people so much as they bless you. How lucky that you are living with a chef! Can he come back with you? :-)
